It might be the peak days of autumn, but when the season’s colorful glory fades, the skies cloud over, and a yearly gloom descends upon the people once more, you’ll be glad you have an escape on the calendar. Right now, the price is right: You can get roundtrip fares from San Francisco and San Jose to Kahului (Maui) starting at $237, carryon (mostly) included. Here are some sample itineraries:
Flights are nonstop with Hawaiian Airlines, United Airlines, and Alaskan Airlines, and only five and a half hours or so in flight time, meaning this isn’t some huge long-haul journey you have to gear up for. Plus, the nonstop itinerary is super nice for getting the vacation vibes going.
The fares on these deals are all the lowest possible — and, consequently, the lowest ticket class. The good news is Hawaiian Airlines includes a carry-on, as does Alaska Airlines. United, however, doesn’t include a bag with the Basic Economy fare (passengers are allotted a personal item) at these prices.

Almost every week from the end of October 2022 through early February 2023 has some great deals available — except for that stretch of Christmas through New Year’s.
