Florida flight carrying migrants to Martha’s Winery made cease in NC


CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One of many flights chartered by the state of Florida to hold immigrants to Martha’s Winery made a cease in Charlotte Wednesday afternoon, Queen Metropolis Information confirmed.

The chartered flight originated in San Antonio, Texas, and made a cease in Crestview, Florida, earlier than arriving at Charlotte Douglas Worldwide Airport at 12:46 p.m. Wednesday. The jet then departed for Massachusetts at 1:49 p.m.

A second chartered flight made a short cease in Spartanburg.

Taryn Fenske, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ communications director, stated the flights had been a part of the state’s effort to “transport unlawful immigrants to sanctuary locations.”

The Florida Legislature had beforehand accepted a price range that included $12 million for the Florida Division of Transportation to move “unlawful immigrants” from the state.

Massachusetts Consultant Dylan Fernandes, who represents the Martha’s Winery space, stated the group was coming collectively to help the immigrants.

NPR reported that a number of the migrants had been informed they had been being flown to Boston.

On Thursday morning, two busloads of migrants from the U.S.-Mexico border had been dropped off close to Vice President Kamala Hariss’ dwelling in Washington.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott confirmed that he’d despatched the buses.

“We’re sending migrants to her yard to name on the Biden Administration to do its job and safe the border,” Abbott stated on Twitter.
