Head to New York City for cheap this winter.
Alexander Spatari/Getty ImagesIf heading over to the East Coast sounds like the break you need this winter, Alaska Airlines is currently offering roundtrip flights from San Francisco to New York City for less than $220. There’s not even a connecting flight to catch: We’re talking nonstop, direct flights there and back.
Alaska Airlines includes a carry-on bag in your fare, so you don’t have to worry about cramming everything into your gym backpack — which is especially nice when you’re about to pack some of your heaviest sweaters.
You can catch fares from December to February, with some blackouts for the holidays in late December. But there are still a ton of good options for those sub-$200 flights: We found a couple of the best on Kayak, below.
Winter in New York will be chilly, but there’s still a ton to do: New York Restaurant Week happens at the end of January. Plus, there’s the Winter Jazzfest that month. Additionally, Must-See Week has historically occurred from January to February, with two-for-one tickets to popular attractions.
There are plenty of dates to search, so gather up the rest of your vacation days for the year — or put up an OOO for a well-deserved break — and book yourself on a flight while the prices are good.
Check out all the dates now on Kayak to figure out which dates work best for your schedule. And be sure to read up on our tips for taking to the skies during the holidays, including the worst day to fly ahead of Christmas.
